A person without any scuba dive certification can go up to 12 meters deep and explore beautiful coral reefs, colorful species of fish, and other sea animals. 45 minutes training session is mandatory before each dive for beginners or first-time scuba divers. Certified scuba divers can go deeper from 12 meters to 30 meters depending on their certification level. 


A number of quality dive sites are there for beginners or advanced scuba divers to experience deep sea diving in Andaman. The following are some of the best dive sites in Havelock.


Nemo Reef: It is the exclusive dive site to experience shore dives in Havelock. Nemo Reef is located on the shore of Nemo beach and is 1 kilometer away from Havelock Jetty. It has a maximum depth of 8 meters and is the home of colorful Nemo fishes. A diver can witness numerous species of fish and other sea animals but fish in groups are not available there. The dive site is usually crowded because shore dives are conducted at the minimum rates as compared to deep dives. 


Tribe Gate: A beginner or first-time scuba diver can also join deep dives in Havelock. Tribe gate is the recommended dive site for deep dives with a maximum depth of 14 meters. It is located between the channels of Havelock Island and John Lawrence Island. Tribe gate has a dense population of numerous sea animals and one can find fish in groups there. It is a favorite spot for fun divers, beginner scuba divers, and scuba diving learning programs. The spot is not much crowded as compared to Nemo Reef. 


Havelock lighthouse: It is a beautiful dive site located 500 meters away from the Havelock Jetty. Lighthouse is the point where the dive spot begins and has a maximum depth of 16 meters. The dive site can be easily accessed by a speed boat and it is popular for live coral reefs. It is an ideal dive site for both beginners and advanced scuba divers. A variety of marine life exists there and diving there is going to be fun. It is recommended to dive there in the early morning slots because after 9 am there is usually huge boat traffic witnessed there.       


Apart from the above dive sites, the wall, slope, turtle beach, red pillar, and aquarium are awesome dive sites. Most of the dive sites are dedicated to getting scuba diving certification.
