We started our sunset kayaking journey at 4 pm from the Seahawks SCUBA dive center. We were taken to the havelock lighthouse which is located near Havelock Jetty. Havelock lighthouse is the recommended site to experience sunset kayaking in Havelock. We wore life jackets to venture into the activity and adhere to some instructions for a safe experience.
Havelock lighthouse consists of crystal clear water bodies and offers suitable conditions to witness the sunset. Kayaking through the waves of water is a challenging but much more adventurous activity. The journey of Sunset kayaking starts through the narrow channels of Mangroves. It’s a narrow water channel with both sides of mangrove forests. It was a splendid view of watching the sunset through the channels of mangroves.
The patch of Mangrove forests takes 25 minutes to complete and open in an open area near Havelock lighthouse. There we stop to witness the sunset and take some awesome photographs for a lifetime memory. Havelock lighthouse is also the home of some magnificent coral reefs beneath the sea surface and the home of some diverse species of marine animals.
We could clearly see live corals and species of fish in crystal clear water bodies. Our journey started at 4 pm and end after the sunset around 6 pm. The overall experience of watching the sunset was much more exciting and let us see some unforgettable aspects of nature. Professional instructors were always with us and guided us each time for a smooth and pleasant kayaking experience. A standby speed boat also joined the trip for safety and instant rescue.

Points to remember while sunset kayaking
- Do not venture into the activity while intoxicated.
- Don’t go too far from your group, so that you don’t leave behind.
- Leave all your valuable things at the dive center or your hotel
- Never try to get into the water while doing the activity
- Always wear life jackets and other safety equipment while kayaking.
- Never go kayaking in adverse weather conditions
- Follow all the instructions of your kayak master
- Keep a safe distance from other kayaks
- Don’t bend into the sea from your kayak as it may keel over your kayak
- It is not recommended to go kayaking during heavy rainfall
