Our First Snorkeling Experience With Seahawks Scuba Watersports

I visited the Andaman Islands at the beginning of January 2022. We were 4 college friends visiting Andaman for the first time. We landed at Veer Savarkar international airport, Port Blair, and headed to Havelock Island on a ferry. The ferry took around 2 hours of travel time to reach Havelock Island. We were checked in to sandy waves beach resort on arrival and decided to take a rest after the tiring long travel.

On the next day, we visited Kala Pattar beach early morning to watch the sunrise. It was really a wonderful experience at the beach and we spent a memorable time over there. Our snorkeling trip was confirmed with the Seahawks at the 7 am slot, so after watching the sunrise we rushed to the dive center. Havelock is the best location to experience Andaman snorkeling.

At the dive center, we all filled a form mentioning our contact details and health issues. After form fillup and balance payment, we were given dive suites to change in the changing room. Then we went to Govind Nagar beach number 3 which is approx 5 minutes walking distance from the dive center.

We got on the boat with the dive crew and headed to a dive site named Tribe gate for our snorkeling activities. Tribe gate is located around 2 kilometers away from the beach in an open sea. On reaching the dive site, we could clearly see the species of fishes in the crystal clear water.

Our dive masters gave an explanatory introduction about the activity and how to use a snorkel on the surface of the water. We all got into the water after wearing life jackets. Our snorkeling activity started after a brief practical session on how to inhale and exhale through the snorkel. We held one side of a round tube and another side by a divemaster to take us some amazing corals full of marine life. We put our heads into the water and breathe through the equipment called a snorkel.

We witnessed colorful species of fish life, sea turtle, reefs, and much more. The water of the dive site was very clear and we didn’t face hurdles to see into the water. You have to breathe through your mouth with the help of a snorkel because your nose and eyes will be covered by a mask. The whole snorkeling experience was beyond my expectations and the activity lasted for 30 minutes.

Cost of Snorkeling in Andaman

The cost for the whole activity is quite affordable as compared to other watersports in Andaman. Snorkeling in Andaman Price is INR 2500 per person including all taxes and no hidden charges. The package also includes 1 video of 3 minutes and 20 photos of the activity. Pick and drop facilities are also available from your hotel if you are staying between Havelock jetty and Govind Nagar beach number 5. I would without a doubt recommend Seahawks SCUBA to have you experience a memorable and adventurous snorkeling trip with them.
