Indian beaches and Islands have a great potential for scuba diving activities. Most of them are untouched where rich marine life exists. Andaman & Nicobar Islands (India) are blessed with white sandy beaches, unmatched marine ecosystems, live corals, blue clear crystal water, and species of water animals. In short, the Andaman Islands offer multiple diving spots to experience unique marine life.
Top 5 places to experience blissful scuba diving in India
Elephant Beach (Havelock Island): It is one of the popular beaches in Havelock and is particularly known for scuba diving activities. The existence of marine life beyond shallow water bodies, clear crystal water, and the diversification of water animals make the spot highly relevant for scuba lovers. The spot is just 8.5 km away from the jetty and easily accessible to everyone.
Radhanagar Beach (Havelock): Radhanagar beach is one of the cleanest beaches in India. It is ranked 7th amongst the most famous beaches around the world. The beach is located at swaraj dweep (Havelock Island) under the south Andaman District. Excessive live corals below shallow waters are the central point of attraction for scuba lovers. The beach is also famous for its sunset view.
Lakshadweep Islands (India): Lakshadweep Islands are located in the southern part of India in the Arabian sea, near the coastal city of Kochi, Kerala. The Islands are famous for their vibrant marine life, rich coral reefs, and beautiful sandy beaches. However, most of the part of Lakshadweep is restricted for tourism because of safety reasons, but despite that, there is a lot more to explore underwater.
Goa: Goa is one of the popular tourist destinations in India. The place is known for its beautiful beaches, nightlife, and popular water sports. The exploration of marine life is a little harder here. No shallow marine life exists in Goa, you have to go deeper to get a glimpse of them. Goa is preferable for budgeted scuba divers and who are willing for Deep sea diving in India.
In my personal opinion, I will prefer Andaman for scuba diving. Andaman consists of species of water animals, colorful shallow corals, and unique underwater structures In adequate amounts. The place is not popular for water sports, but there are a lot more to explore. However Andaman is a bit expensive as compared to other diving destinations in India, but the underwater experience here is worth memorizing.
